Dichroic glass creates the shimmer effect, similar to that found in nature's fire opal. The Dichroic coating developed by NASA, creates two different colors by transmitting certain wavelengths of light, while reflecting others. Metals found in the coating include Precious Gold and Silver, as well as, Titanium, Chromium, Aluminum, Zirconium and Magnesium.
